Homemade Chili Recipe

Hey Embarquers!

This fall weather is the perfect time to create a warm and hearty dish that’s good for your soul. My favorite fall classic is a family chili recipe (that isn’t really even a recipe, we simply go off of taste). Let’s get started on this American classic!

Embarque’s Homemade Chili

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 C chopped onion
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 2- 15 ounce cans of red kidney beans (drained and washed)
  • 2- cans of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies (drained)
  • 4 cans of tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 3 tsp Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 1/4 C Western Dressing
  • 1/8 C Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/3 C brown sugar

1.) Brown the beef while caramelizing the onions and garlic in the same pan.

2.) In a stockpot, combine the rest of the ingredients and stir until thoroughly combined.

3.) Simmer until mixture starts to bubble, then simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

4.) Serve with cheese and cornbread (optional), and enjoy!
