Fail-Proof Pot Roast

Life is hectic for all us, so why not make our meals one less thing on our “to-do” list.

This pot roast is the perfect recipe for are busy and don’t have time to put together dinner, and those who are new to cooking and easily become intimidated in the kitchen.


I promise you that this is a great recipe that gives you the confidence to spend more time refining your cooking skills.

Fail-Proof Pot Roast

Servings: 8

Duration: 6 hours



  • 4 lbs Chuck Roast
  • 1 packet of Ranch dressing powder
  • 1 packet of Italian dressing powder
  • 1 packet of Brown Gravy powder
  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 4 red potatoes
  • 1 bag of baby carrots
  • 1 yellow onion (chopped)


1.) Mix the 3 packets of dressing together (to create a dry rub) and set aside


2.) Take the chuck roast, dry with a paper towel, and massage all sides of the roast with the dry rub.


3.) Place the roast in the crockpot on low, pour 1 cup of water in in the crockpot and cook for 3 hours. Baste the meat every hour.

4.) Cut the vegetables in the following way: quarter the red potatoes, dice the sweet potatoes and onion in large chunks, and leave the carrots “as is”.

Don’t fret, this is what the meat should look like.


5.) After 3 hours, add in the vegetables, and cook for an additional 2.5 hours.


6.) Baste and Serve!
